The Spot
Lutèce takes its name from Lutetia, the Roman settlement that grew into Paris, and carries that history into a small, candlelit dining room in historic Georgetown. The cooking follows the neo-bistro tradition — modern French food built from local and seasonal ingredients, favoring simplicity and resourcefulness over formality. It comes from the team behind Pascual and Lapis.

The dinner menu changes weekly, pairing small plates with large-format mains meant for the table, followed by a dessert menu running from classic French pastries to more unexpected finales. The wine list is French, natural, and biodynamic, built to match the food, with a short cocktail menu of aperitifs, French classics, and house drinks at the bar.

One recurring opening move: a server arrives tableside with a pot of hot duck broth, poured over a rolled bay leaf packed with rosemary and thyme to form a consommé that lands somewhere between soup and tea — a small ritual that sets the tone for a menu that keeps reworking familiar French technique into something less predictable.

Michelin selected Lutèce for its Washington, DC guide in 2025, and Washingtonian has named it among the city's best restaurants in both 2025 and 2026.
