Our Take

COTE Miami runs on a kind of choreography most restaurants never attempt. Servers circle the tables managing cuts of beef over built-in grills, timing flips and turns without a word passed between them, like the whole floor is working off one shared instinct. It would be worth the visit for that alone. The fact that the beef itself holds up the premise is the real argument.

This is Korean steakhouse logic taken seriously rather than borrowed for flavor. The format puts the cooking in full view and dares the kitchen to be as precise as the service, and it is. The room matches the ambition — sleek, exact, built to feel like a glimpse of where dining is headed rather than where it's been. Design District has no shortage of restaurants chasing that look. Few back it up with cooking this disciplined.

A Michelin star landed on it for 2026, and a national recognition list took note too, but neither is why the tables stay full. The reason is simpler: the beef, the grill, and the staff moving around it operate as one unit, and it's rare to find all three firing at this level in the same room.

The Spot
COTE Miami brings Korean barbecue conviviality together with the format of a classic American steakhouse. Each table is built around its own grill, where cuts of USDA Prime beef — drawn from the top 5% of American cattle — and American Wagyu are cooked tableside.

Service is built around the grill: staff move through the dining room tending to the meat as it cooks, timing flips and checks with a coordinated, almost wordless rhythm. The wine list runs more than 1,200 labels, backed by a cocktail program built around classic structures with creative twists.

Michelin awarded COTE Miami one star in its 2026 guide.
