Our Take

Le Jardinier works a sleek, futuristic room — all clean lines and gleaming surfaces, closer to a starship's officers' mess than a typical French dining room — and the kitchen matches that polish with food built to look as good as it tastes. Shrimp in parmesan polenta and a sunchoke velouté anchor a menu that leans hard into vegetables done with real technique, not as an afterthought to the proteins. When meat does show up, it shows up dressed: a wagyu bavette arrives so precisely composed it looks staged, and then eats even better than it looks.

The fussiness is the point, not a flaw. Every plate reads as deliberate, seasonal, considered — this is food meant to be studied before it's eaten. That kind of ambition usually comes with a catch, and here the catch is mild: the prix fixe lunch makes the same cooking accessible for a midday splurge, proof the kitchen isn't just performing for dinner service.

A Michelin star, awarded in 2026, confirms what the plates already argue. Le Jardinier isn't coasting on its Design District address or its architecture. The food holds up the room, not the other way around.

The Spot
Le Jardinier sits in the Miami Design District as part of the Bastion Collection group, with Chef Alain Verzeroli, a longtime protégé of Joël Robuchon, behind its concept. The kitchen builds its menus around French technique applied to wild and sustainable fish, meat, and poultry, paired with seasonal produce sourced from local farmers and purveyors.

Executive Chef James Friedberg and Executive Pastry Chef Salvatore Martone run the day-to-day menus, which shift seasonally across lunch and dinner prix fixe formats alongside à la carte options. Dishes include burrata with salt-baked beetroot, green apple, and pistachio; snapper crudo with brown butter vinaigrette, persimmons, and daikon; roasted chicken breast with lemon-herb sauce and maitake mushroom; and wagyu picanha with wilted greens and beurre rouge. The room itself has been described as polished and glossy, with vegetable-forward dishes that read as carefully composed.

Michelin awarded Le Jardinier one star in the 2026 guide.
