Caffe Lucca sits in the Knox District, a Sicilian-focused restaurant from chef Julian Barsotti, whose other Dallas projects include Nonna, Barsotti's, Fachini, Bacari Tabu, Odelay, and Goodbye Horses. The restaurant was opened in partnership with former Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, and operates as a neighborhood spot serving both lunch and dinner.
The dining room leans into its Sicilian theme with Mediterranean tile and lemon trees. The menu centers on busiate, loose hand-rolled pasta spirals served with either a meaty ragu or a pesto trapanese studded with tomatoes and mint. Mezze like a smoky poblano muhammara arrive with vegetables for scooping, and Gulf snapper appears on the menu as well.
