The Spot
Gene & Georgetti opened in 1941, founded by Gene Michelotti and his partner Alfredo Federighi, who took the nickname "Georgetti" after a well-known Italian cyclist. Set in River North, it holds the title of Chicago's oldest steakhouse, built on a partnership that shaped the place from day one.

The menu runs from steaks and chops to seafood and pasta, backed by an extensive wine selection and a full bar. Rib eye, calamari, and tiramisu are among the dishes regulars keep coming back for. The dining room itself functions like a running history of the city, its walls covered in signed celebrity photos alongside familiar local faces.

Gene & Georgetti is now part of Turnkey Hospitality Group.
