Our Take

Creepies is what happens when a serious kitchen decides to have fun without cutting corners. It's the sister spot to Elske, built into the empty storefront next door — the name is the old nickname for that space, and the restaurant leans into it hard. Cartoon faces cover the plates, a Picasso-esque Homer Simpson watches over the room, and none of it reads as gimmick because the Midwestern-French food underneath earns the attention.

The mussels come giardiniera-topped, a Chicago detail dropped into a French format without apology. The gnocchi arrives under a sheet of crispy cheese diners have to break through to get to it, the kind of dish built for a table of friends rather than a solo tasting menu. Sit at the counter for the wine list and the room's energy — this is a place that wants you loud, not reverent.

The recognition follows the same logic as the food: real institutional weight, worn lightly. A Michelin selection and a spot on a national best-new-restaurants list confirm what the room already tells you. Creepies could have coasted on the bit. Instead it built a kitchen good enough to support it.

The Spot
Creepies is a neighborhood bistro in Chicago's Fulton Market District from chefs Anna and David Posey, with Chef de Cuisine Tayler Ploshehanski leading the kitchen.

The restaurant has picked up recognition since opening: Michelin selected it for the 2025 guide, Robb Report named it among its Best New Restaurants for 2026, and Time Out Chicago included it on the city's best-of-2025 list. The Infatuation scored it 8.3 out of 10.
