Amélie is a French bistro and wine bar in Northwest DC led by Executive Chef Anthony Lemortellec, running a full rotation of dinner, lunch, brunch, and happy hour service.
The kitchen works with dry-aged, grass-fed beef, used in a hand-cut beef tartare and a grass-fed hanger steak. Steak frites and the Amélie burger come with fries cut in house, moules marinière and grilled octopus with ratatouille round out the seafood side, and roasted lemon chicken sits alongside them on the dinner menu. Choux with hazelnut ice cream and warm chocolate closes things out. A two-course lunch menu is also offered.
The room leans riviera meets countryside café — exposed brick, wicker chairs, and matte-painted wine bottles used for mood lighting — a more relaxed take on French bistro than the white-tablecloth version. It draws a mix of neighborhood regulars and nearby office workers, with the bar area filling up during happy hour.
