Taksim is a Turkish restaurant in SoMa from the people behind Lokma, the casual Turkish spot in the Richmond. The dining room spans multiple levels and reads as industrial loft: hanging orb lamps, big windows that let in natural light, and cloth napkins stamped with the restaurant's name set the tone for what the restaurant treats as a semi-formal affair.
The kitchen cooks with a wood-fired oven and uses locally sourced Californian produce. Mezes include Lamb Carpaccio, Shish Kebab, the Taksim Trio of dips and pita, and Wood Fired Flower Bread. Dinner entrées run to Australian Lamb Chops, Branzino, and a Guvec for Two, with Palace Pudding and Taksim Donuts closing out the menu. A seven-course tasting menu is also offered.
