A.R. Valentien is the signature restaurant at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, housed in a Craftsman-style room with hand-framed windows, stained-glass lanterns, and a painted frieze, alongside an outdoor terrace looking over the 18th hole of Torrey Pines Golf Course. The restaurant takes its name from an early 20th-century California artist whose work is exhibited throughout the space.
The kitchen runs an a la carte fine-dining menu across breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, built on local provisions and changed frequently with the season. Diners frequently point to the duck, scallops, and steak, along with a wine list substantial enough to warrant its own sommelier, and the terrace views draw their own following.
A.R. Valentien holds a Michelin Selected listing for San Diego in both 2025 and 2026, and was named to San Diego Magazine's best-of list in 2025.
