Tanner's Prime Burgers works from a simple premise: use only USDA Prime beef, the grade that makes up less than 5% of what's sold in the U.S. The patties are Brandt Beef, smashed on the grill and finished with cowboy beef bacon, caramelized onions, and Tanner's Sauce on a brioche bun, available as a single, double, or a Dirty Double with pickles and doubled cheese.
Beef tallow shows up throughout the kitchen beyond the patties — it's used for the fries (plain, cheesy, or dirty) and worked into the ice cream. A USDA Prime beef hot dog, dressed the same way as the burgers, rounds out the short menu. The patio welcomes dogs, with a beef patty made for them too.
Michelin has selected Tanner's in both its 2025 and 2026 guides, and San Diego Magazine named it among the city's best in 2025.
