Taco Heart is a breakfast and lunch taco joint inspired by the Tex-Mex tacos of Austin, Texas. It's the work of Nano Wheedan, a Philadelphia native who moved to Austin in 2004 and got hooked on breakfast tacos at spots like Maria's Taco Xpress before spending over a decade building Home Slice Pizza into an Austin institution and later becoming a minority partner at Korshak Bagels in East Passyunk.
The counter sits at 1001 E Passyunk Ave, and the breakfast tacos have become the thing regulars come back for, alongside a reputation for handmade, fresh-made food. Service has developed a following for its warmth, and the kitchen also runs a catering operation beyond the counter.
