The Spot
La Jefa Café occupies a cozy, intimate room in Rittenhouse Square, built around Mexican cooking and a cocktail program leaning on mezcal and creative mixing. Regulars point to the quesadilla, the short rib, and a Danish pastry as the dishes worth returning for, and word-of-mouth has done a lot of the restaurant's work — repeat visitors are common, drawn as much by the hospitality as the food.

Philadelphia Magazine named La Jefa to its Best of Philly list in 2025, and The Infatuation scored it 8.3 out of 10.
