The Spot
Amá is an elevated Mexican restaurant in Philadelphia's Fishtown/Kensington neighborhood, led by Mexico City–born chef and owner Frankie Ramirez alongside partners, with Guillermo Luna serving as chef de cuisine. The restaurant runs dinner service with a full bar built around tequila and mezcal.

The seasonal menu runs more than 20 dishes drawing on Mexico's six main culinary regions, built on hand-pressed tortillas and proteins and vegetables cooked over a custom charcoal-and-wood grill, meant to be shared. The Carne Asada pairs wagyu picanha with ancho butter, chichilo, and hoja santa chochoyotes, while the Pollo a la Leña comes with adobo, crispy potatoes, ají verde, and atapakua sauce. The Seabass a la Veracruzana uses dry-aged fish with heirloom tomato sofrito, and the Milpa Salad brings huitlacoche, chapulines, and cured nopal to the table. Desserts are made in-house.

Philadelphia Magazine named Amá to its Best of Philly list for 2025, and the James Beard Foundation named Ramirez a semifinalist for Emerging Chef in 2026. The room has built a reputation for attentive service and a sophisticated mezcal and cocktail program, welcoming enough for both everyday dinners and bigger occasions.
