Our Take

Taquiza doesn't look like much. There's no indoor seating, no real dining room — just a patio, takeout bags, and a hulking tortilla machine that eats most of the available space. That machine is the whole argument. It turns out yellow masa now instead of the old blue, and the result is thin, tender, genuinely flavorful tortillas that carry ten different tacos without needing much dressing up. The crispy fish is the one to order first.

The totopos are the other half of the case. Still blue, still puffy, and somehow better than they used to be — order them with guacamole and tear one open while it's hot. This is a place that moved from Miami Beach, shrank its footprint, and still managed to improve the thing it was already known for. That's not survival. That's a kitchen getting sharper under pressure.

Michelin selected it in its 2026 guide, which tracks. The setting asks nothing of you and the food delivers anyway. Eat on the patio, get it to go, it doesn't matter — the tortillas and the totopos do the work.

The Spot
Taquiza operates as both a taquería and an on-site tortilla factory, with a visible tortilla-making machine taking up much of the space. There's no indoor seating — tacos are eaten at patio tables or taken to go. The restaurant also sells its tortillas and masa wholesale.

Tortillas are now made with yellow masa, thin and tender, and used across a menu of ten tacos, with the crispy fish version standing out. The puffy blue totopos remain a constant, typically ordered with a side of guacamole. The Little River location followed the closure of Taquiza's two earlier Miami Beach spots.

Taquiza was selected for the Michelin Guide in 2026.
