Our Take

Recoveco works from a genre that usually curdles into gimmick — the hyper-precise, farmers-market-driven tasting menu — and somehow keeps it warm. The structure is tight: a handful of small plates, a handful of proteins, a rotating special or two, and desserts built with the same rigor as everything that comes before them. Nothing here reads as padding.

The real subject is tropical fruit, pushed into places it doesn't usually go. A red banana gets the au poivre treatment. Eggfruit shows up smoked. These aren't cute flourishes; they're the kitchen's actual argument, repeated dish after dish until you realize there's nothing else quite like it to compare it to. The open kitchen stays quiet, but the plates are anything but restrained.

What keeps it from tipping into cold technique is the service — efficient, attentive, clearly run by people who care whether you're having a good time, not just whether the plating is correct. That combination, exacting food paired with genuine hospitality, is rarer than it should be.

A Michelin Selected designation for 2026 confirms what the cooking already made obvious. Recoveco isn't coasting on novelty. It's building something specific, and it's still getting better at it.

The Spot
Recoveco is an intimate restaurant in South Miami built around an open kitchen, with a menu dictated by what's in season rather than a fixed lineup. The format follows a loose structure: four small plates, four larger protein dishes, one or two rotating specials, and a pair of desserts to close.

Tropical fruit is a recurring thread through the menu, turning up in dishes like a red banana au poivre and smoked eggfruit. The kitchen runs quietly for an open setup, and service stays precise without feeling cold.

Michelin selected Recoveco for its 2026 guide.
