My Take
Our Take

1111 is Montrose's upscale take on Mexico City cooking, run by the team behind Melrose with a food menu built by the chef behind Tatemó. The pairing shows: this isn't a theme restaurant leaning on tequila and mariachi, it's a kitchen with a real point of view executing a real menu. Gulf prawn empanadas and duck carnitas braised down in Mexican cola do the work of showing range, and the whole charcoal-grilled Spanish seabass, rubbed in herbs and chile adobo, is the kind of dish you order for the table and don't apologize for.

The cocktail program matches the ambition — carajillos and masa old fashioneds instead of the usual margarita shortcuts — and the room carries a dress code strict enough to signal this is meant to be an occasion, not a taco run. It earns that posture. Service and atmosphere consistently land, and the food backs up the price point rather than just the production value.

The Michelin Guide selected it in 2026, which tracks with what's actually happening in the room: a kitchen translating Mexico City's ambition into Houston without diluting it. Dress up, book the seabass, and don't expect a quiet night.

The Spot
Eleven Eleven sits on Westheimer Road in Montrose, from the team behind Melrose. It's built as a tapas-and-cocktail destination drawing on Mexico City's contemporary creativity, pairing bold small plates with a cocktail program designed around the bar. Chef Emanuel Chavez, who also cooks at Tatemó, leads the kitchen.

The food menu runs through Gulf prawn empanadas, duck carnitas braised in Mexican cola, and a whole Spanish charcoal-grilled seabass rubbed with herbs and chile adobo. On the drinks side, carajillos and masa old fashioneds anchor the list.

Michelin selected Eleven Eleven in its 2026 guide. The room reads upscale and design-forward, with regulars pointing to attentive service and a sophisticated cocktail program as the draw in what's become one of Montrose's newer gathering spots.
