The Spot
Boombots is Sunnyside's neighborhood pasta shop, built around fresh pasta dishes that take unconventional, funky spins on classic preparations rather than straightforward red-sauce standards. It's the second restaurant from owners Cliff and Cara Blauvelt, who previously opened Odie B's.

Cliff has spent more than 20 years in Denver kitchens, working up to executive chef and culinary director roles and cooking as far afield as Aruba. Cara brings 15 years in hospitality and a seat on the EatDenver board.

Service runs on a hybrid model: guests place an initial order for a small plate or drink at the counter, then get seated for table-side service the rest of the meal.

The cocktail program and service both draw consistent praise from regulars, while the pasta itself splits opinion — some diners love the creative approach, others find it a departure from expected Italian comfort food. Westword named Boombots to its Best of Denver list in 2025.
