Tango Room doesn't look like a steakhouse. Red carpets, burgundy booths, mid-century styling — the room plays like an old Hollywood private club, and that's before the menu shows up. Then it does, and the case becomes obvious.

The Australian wagyu is the anchor, tender enough to make a knife feel unnecessary, rippled with fat in the right places. The Hokkaido A5, priced by the ounce, goes further still — meat that barely asks you to chew. Eight toppings are on offer, truffle butter and au poivre among them, but the point of cuts this good is that they don't need any of it. Order them plain and let the kitchen's sourcing do the talking.

The wine list matches the ambition. It's one of the more eclectic pours in Dallas, stocked with rotating bottles that are genuinely hard to find outside Bordeaux itself — a serious list attached to a serious kitchen, not a prop.

Two national recognition lists have already flagged it. That's confirmation, not the argument. The argument is a Design District room that commits fully to a theatrical idea and backs it with meat that earns the theater.
