El Carlos Elegante brings Mexico City–inspired cooking to Dallas's Design District, open nightly for dinner. A wood-fired grill anchors the kitchen, turning out large cuts of Argentinian-style meats and fish, while an in-house masa program supplies house-made tortillas and other traditional masa-based dishes. A crudo and ceviche selection rounds out the raw side of the menu.
The bar runs a seasonal craft cocktail program with a dedicated mezcal focus, alongside a global list of wines and champagnes. The restaurant is connected to Duro Hospitality.
Eater named El Carlos Elegante to its Essential 38, and Michelin has selected the restaurant in both its 2024 and 2025 guides. Regulars point to consistent execution and knowledgeable service, and the spot has built a reputation as a special-occasion destination.
