The Spot
River Roast sits directly on the Chicago River in River North, with downtown views shaping the room. The restaurant describes itself as a lively social house and gathering place, and the menu backs that up: contemporary American tavern fare built around dramatic, shareable presentations — whole roasted chicken, whole roasted fish, and slow roasted beef.

The space also houses Corner Roast Coffee & Bar and RR Events, and a riverside patio opens for seasonal outdoor dining. It's a spot geared toward groups and long tables rather than quiet, plated-for-one meals, with the roasts and the river view doing a lot of the work.
