The Spot
Bistro Monadnock occupies a corner of the historic Monadnock Building, built in 1891, in Chicago's Loop. The restaurant serves traditional French bistro dishes with occasional twists, backed by a wine list weighted toward French bottles and fifteen selections by the glass, plus a full bar pouring classic cocktails and draft beer.

The project comes from brothers John, Karl, and Graeme Fehr, who ran a boutique law firm inside the same building from 2011 to 2017 before moving into hospitality. Bistro Monadnock is their third concept in six years and, by their account, a deliberate return to the address they once worked out of.

Regulars point to the room's atmosphere and to service that shines when the staff is fully dialed in, though local accounts describe some night-to-night inconsistency in the kitchen.
