The Spot
Ensenada ATX operates out of a truck on Austin's east side, serving Baja-style mariscos with a shaded patio meant for sticking around rather than eating on the go. The core menu is built on made-to-order fried tacos: lightly battered Atlantic cod and Gulf shrimp, topped with cabbage, crema, pickled onion, and a roasted chile de árbol salsa. Batters and salsas are made fresh every morning.

On weekends the menu opens up into raw and cured seafood, including a lime-cured tostada de ceviche with pico de gallo and avocado, and a shrimp cocktail with cucumber, avocado, and citrusy cocktail sauce. A fresh-squeezed lime Topo Chico limeade and a weekend michelada mix round out the drinks.

The fish and shrimp tacos in particular have built a following among locals, who point to the fresh ingredients and the fried-to-order crunch. Bon Appétit included Ensenada ATX in its Best New Restaurants list in 2023.
