The Spot
Churchrow Tejas BBQ sits at the corner of Anderson and Woodrow in Crestview, its name borrowed from Woodrow Avenue's old 1950s nickname "Churchrow," earned when a row of churches once lined the street.

Pitmaster Miguel Vidal, also of Valentina's Tex Mex BBQ, runs the pit here, applying the same Mexican-inspired approach: slow-smoked Texas barbecue traditions combined with Mexican cooking. That shows up in barbecue tacos served alongside the standard smoked meats.

The place has built a following in the neighborhood for its brisket and for Vidal's presence on-site, with regulars returning often enough to know the staff by name.
