The Spot
Tomo is an upscale Japanese restaurant in Buckhead built around sushi and nigiri alongside a menu of composed dishes — tuna tartare, a black cod wrap, and a New Zealand lamb chop with sansho peppercorn among them. Reviewers also point to an avocado salad and oysters rounding out the raw bar. Service is a recurring theme among regulars, who describe an attentive, polished dining room suited to celebrations and dinners with friends.

The restaurant runs a sake program it describes as one of Atlanta's more refined collections, meant to pair with the seasonal, technique-driven cooking coming out of the kitchen. A recurring Tuna Tuesday event centers on tableside tuna carving.

Michelin has selected Tomo for its Atlanta guide in 2023, 2024, and 2025. The restaurant's pastry program also drew national attention, with a semifinalist nod for the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Pastry Chef award in 2016.
