Our Take

O by Brush runs an 18-seat counter through a 20-course omakase, and the room refuses to act like the occasion it actually is. People are there celebrating something, sake and cocktails move steadily, and nobody polices the volume. That looseness is deceptive. Underneath it is a kitchen working at a level of precision that doesn't announce itself — wasabi root flown in from Japan on a strict biweekly schedule, amberjack dry-aged for days before it ever meets a shallot ponzu. The chef will mention it if you're listening. The point isn't the flex, it's that the effort is real whether or not you clock it.

That combination — technical rigor with zero pretension attached to it — is the restaurant's whole case. Most tasting counters ask you to perform seriousness. This one lets the food carry it instead, which means a heated conversation about reality TV between courses doesn't feel like a violation. It feels like the room working as intended.

Back-to-back Michelin stars, 2024 and 2025, confirm what the counter already makes obvious: this is disciplined cooking that happens to be fun to sit through. Buckhead doesn't have another seat like it.

The Spot
O by Brush is an 18-seat counter restaurant in Buckhead built around a 20-course omakase. The room runs looser than the format might suggest — cocktails and warm sake move freely, and the mood leans toward celebration rather than hushed reverence, even as the kitchen works through a long, detailed progression of courses.

Details surface throughout the meal: wasabi root flown in from Japan every two weeks, reportedly the priciest ingredient on the menu by weight, and amberjack that goes through a days-long dry-aging process before being served with a shallot ponzu sauce. Service is personalized, with the chef and staff engaging directly with the counter over the course of the night.

Michelin awarded O by Brush one star in both the 2024 and 2025 guides.
