Chops Lobster Bar opened in Buckhead in 1989, founded by Pano Karatassos, who also founded Buckhead Life Restaurant Group. The restaurant has since expanded to Boca Raton, Florida, with a third location planned for Downtown Atlanta's Centennial Yards.
The menu runs on USDA Prime steaks and certified A5 Wagyu alongside a raw and seafood bar — crab cakes, shellfish towers, and oysters sit next to filet and NY strip, with creamed spinach and fries on the side. Creme brulee closes out the dessert list.
James Beard Foundation named Karatassos a semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur in both 2009 and 2010.
