Oriole sits alone at the top — Michelin Two Stars and a James Beard win, in Fulton Market District. Below it, Mako and Kyoten Next Door hold One Star and Selected honors, with Kumiko adding a Beard win of its own in the West Loop. The rest is nine Damn Good spots, mostly Michelin Selected, running from Logan Square ramen to River North sushi. Chicago's Japanese scene has a real peak and real depth under it.
