The Spot
Pastis DC transplants the New York brasserie south, recreating its look inside a Union Market address with a curved zinc bar, subway tile, vintage mirrors, and a mosaic floor. It's led by the same restaurateurs behind the original New York restaurant, and despite the pedigree, regulars in the neighborhood still talk about it like a discovery.

The menu runs through French brasserie staples — escargots, onion soup gratinée, duck confit, steak frites — alongside DC-specific additions like the Joy Burger and fish and chips. Raw bar platters and a cocktail program round things out, with the escargot in particular drawing notice from diners.

The room reads as romantic and intimate, and the bar program and service have drawn comparisons to Le Diplomate, another French import in the city's dining scene.
