The Spot
Founding Farmers DC sits three blocks from the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue in Foggy Bottom, built as an "urban DC farmhouse" spread across two floors. The restaurant is majority-owned by American family farmers, and the menu draws on ingredients sourced from farms the ownership group knows directly. Design details carry the concept through the room: handcrafted community tables, silo-shaped booths, a large flying Pegasus by artist Darla Jackson, and a seasonally dressed lamb mascot by Noella Cotnam. The building is LEED Gold certified and holds a 3-Star Certified Green Restaurant designation.

The kitchen runs breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, all made from scratch. Regulars mention chicken and waffles, beignets, goat cheese ravioli, pot roast, prime rib, and steak, with carrot cake, French toast, and hash browns coming up often as well. The bar pours cocktails made with spirits from the restaurant group's own DC distillery.

Brunch in particular has built a following among both locals and visitors to the city.
