Agora D.C. sits on 17th Street in Dupont Circle, serving Eastern Mediterranean food across Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese traditions. Ismail Uslu became sole owner of the restaurant in 2008, and it remains family-run alongside Betul Uslu, who oversees private events. Executive Chef Ismet Sahin, a native of Southern Turkey who worked at five-star hotels there before joining Agora, runs the kitchen.
The menu is built around handcrafted mezze and small plates — htipiti, borek, and pita bread among them — alongside wood-grilled kebabs, lamb chops, and grilled octopus, a signature dish. House-made baklava and other desserts close out the meal, and the kitchen leans on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. A bottomless brunch has become part of the draw as well.
