Sax's Joint occupies the building that once housed Marvin's Restaurant at 317 Petaluma Boulevard South. The Saxelby family — sisters Kimberly and Tiffany, working alongside their mother, known to regulars as "Mee Maw" — spent 14 years building the space into a '50s-style diner named for their father, Sax, whose portrait hangs over the counter.
The menu runs through classic American diner territory: handcrafted burgers, fresh sandwiches, and breakfast plates that include several takes on eggs Benedict. Homemade cinnamon rolls and biscuits have developed a following of their own among regulars. Seating spans indoor tables and an outdoor patio, with to-go orders available daily.
It's built a reputation as a neighborhood fixture — generous portions, homemade cooking, and a retro diner atmosphere that keeps locals coming back.
