The Spot
Grillbird brought its Seattle-style teriyaki north to Phinney Ridge after opening first in West Seattle. The style follows the city's own teriyaki tradition: meat marinated overnight, finished over gas or charcoal, then glazed with a ginger-garlic sauce on the way out of the kitchen.

The menu centers on chargrilled chicken thighs teriyaki alongside salmon teriyaki, katsu, and a run of fried-chicken plates — sesame, bang bang, spicy garlic — plus poke bowls, a griddled burger, and rice or noodle sides. Nearly all of the sauces are made gluten-free, and several dishes are built to accommodate gluten sensitivities without substitution.

Regulars keep coming back for the chicken teriyaki in particular, and the Phinney Ridge shop has built a following as a reliable, easy takeout option in the neighborhood.
