Our Take

Rich Table refuses to be filed under the standard small-plates playbook. The menu runs hyper-seasonal and changes often enough that a dish you loved last visit may simply be gone, replaced by something built on whatever's good right now. That restlessness is the point — this is food built to surprise a regular, not just satisfy a first-timer.

The room works both ends at once. Walk up and eat at the bar on a random night and it feels like a neighborhood hang, candlelit and unfussy. Come for an anniversary and the staff will treat the night like the occasion it is. Service carries real pride in what's being served, and it shows in how the food gets explained and delivered, not just plated.

It's been one of the hardest tables in the city to land since it opened in 2012, and that demand hasn't let up. A James Beard Best New Restaurant finalist nod and a spot in the current Michelin Guide back up what the crowd already knows. Noise is the one real knock — it gets loud — but it's the kind of loud a packed, happy room makes. Worth fighting for a seat.

The Spot
Rich Table is run by chef-owners Evan and Sarah Rich, who bring a combined three decades of high-end restaurant experience from San Francisco and New York. The approach is market-driven: close relationships with farms and purveyors feed a small-plates menu that changes constantly and leans toward inventive, sometimes playful dishes rather than anything fixed or familiar.

The room is deliberately casual — no dress code, candlelit but unfussy — split between a dining room for planned-ahead nights and a bar where walk-ins can eat the same menu. Staff work the floor with visible pride in the food, pairing a neighborhood-hangout feel with service sharp enough for a special occasion.

Michelin selected Rich Table for its 2026 guide. The restaurant was a James Beard Best New Restaurant finalist in 2013, and the restaurant's chef was a James Beard Best Chef semifinalist in 2018.
