Dumpling Story's Valencia Street location shares its menu with its sister restaurant, Dumpling Home, bringing the same roster of dumplings and noodles into the Mission.
The menu runs through steamed xiao long bao (classic pork, and crab and pork), pan-fried options like the Juicy Pork Bao and an Egg Yolk Lava Bao, and boiled dumplings including curry lamb, napa cabbage with pork, and shiitake mushroom with chicken. Noodle dishes cover dan dan with sesame paste and minced pork and a zha jiang soup noodle, alongside sides like dry cooked green beans and hot and sour soup.
The dining room is built around a marble bar and green booths, set under a monkey-shaped chandelier — a space suited to long group dinners as much as a quick plate of dumplings.
