LB. Kitchen sits on Congress Street in East Bayside, the flagship of a small Portland operation built by Lee and Bryna. Lee had already spent time running restaurants in Portland before the two of them started talking about food, energy, and why it felt so hard to find meals that left you feeling good rather than depleted. That conversation became LB.: an all-day cafe serving a health-focused menu meant to be approachable rather than precious.
The format is casual by design — a space for breakfast and lunch built around routine rather than occasion. LB. has since expanded into LB. Mini-Mart, a related convenience-store concept with its own lunch offerings, but the Congress Street cafe remains the original room where the idea started.
