The Spot
The Bower is a full-service restaurant and bar on Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District. The name nods to the trellised garden walkways once common in early 19th-century New Orleans, a callback to the neighborhood's history as land set aside for vegetable gardens dating to Bienville's founding of the city.

The kitchen builds its American menu around Louisiana farmers and farmers markets, with dishes shifting alongside the seasons and product availability rather than sitting fixed year-round.

Executive chef Marcus Woodham, born in Bayou Goula, Louisiana, has worked in New Orleans and Baton Rouge kitchens including Galatoire's Bistro, Luke, and Restaurant Patois, and held executive chef roles at Tivoli & Lee and Tujague's before joining Bar Frances and helping open Claret Wine & Cocktail Bar.

Regulars point to unique cocktails as a draw in their own right alongside the food, and the restaurant has built a reputation as a special-occasion destination, with sophisticated ambiance and attentive service frequently cited by the local crowd.
