The Spot
Alma's dinner room serves a seasonal tasting menu built around ingredients that shift through the year, with gluten-friendly, dairy-free, and vegan options available on request. It's a separate operation from the rest of the building, running its own hours apart from the cafe and hotel.

The cafe side is casual and laidback, serving house-made pastries, sandwiches, coffee, wine, and cocktails through the day. A retail counter up front carries Alma's own apothecary, pantry, and home goods lines, letting guests take a piece of the kitchen's output home with them.

Upstairs, the hotel offers seven individually designed rooms, each stocked with complimentary beverages and antipasti on arrival and an in-room bakery breakfast included with every stay. Alma also runs a monthly tasting series — a seasonal, multi-course menu delivered to Minneapolis addresses or available for pickup at the restaurant.

The kitchen's track record with the James Beard Foundation spans nearly two decades: a Best Chef win in 2010, Best Chef finalist nods in 2007-2009, and repeated semifinalist recognition since, including Outstanding Restaurant (2012, 2019, 2020), Outstanding Service (2014, 2015), and Outstanding Chef (2017, 2018, and again in 2026).
