Havana 1957 sits on Ocean Drive in South Beach, one of several locations (others are in Pembroke Pines and Las Vegas) designed around the look and feel of 1950s Havana. The walls are covered floor to ceiling with photographs and memorabilia of Cuban cultural icons, servers work in polka-dot dresses, and a display case near the entrance holds cigars and vintage cafeteras. Classic Cuban music plays through the room as part of an atmosphere meant to carry guests back to Havana's golden era.
The kitchen runs on Cuban staples: a pressed Cuban sandwich stacked with roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and mustard; vaca frita; ropa vieja; croquettes in ham, chicken, cheese, or cod; and the Pollo Havana 1957, a family-recipe roasted chicken finished in a citrus-spiced gravy. The bar's centerpiece is a mojito program built on more than 120 rums, poured alongside classic Cuban cocktails like the Cuba Libre.
