Eating House started life as a pop-up-turned-restaurant from chef Giorgio Rapicavoli, a Miami native who built the concept around Argentine and Italian influences layered into South Florida's flavors, colors, and sounds. That early version leaned loose and irreverent, known for things like Tang mimosas at brunch, graffiti on the walls, and playful mashups like a steak finished in a blueberry teriyaki sauce.
The restaurant closed and reopened about a year and a half later in Giralda Plaza in Coral Gables, and the room changed with it: plain white walls, long mirrors, and black chairs and tables replaced the earlier, looser aesthetic for something more composed and pared back. The kitchen still works from seasonal dinner and brunch menus alongside curated cocktails.
The restaurant's chef was a James Beard Best Chef semifinalist in 2016 and again in 2015, and a James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year semifinalist in 2013.
