Cantina Leon operates as part market, part restaurant in Coral Gables, with tacos, quesadillas, and esquites served in a room where guests can also shop for salsas and other pantry items. Chef and co-owner Gerardo "Gerry" De Negri built the menu around regional Mexican traditions and generational recipes, drawing on a background that includes gastro bars in Mexico City and kitchen training in Paris.
Tortillas are hand-pressed in-house, and salsas are made fresh each morning. The bar carries a tequila and mezcal collection sourced from families who produce their spirits using generational methods, alongside a Mexican wine and beer selection and cocktails. Beyond dining, the space also functions as a bar and events venue.
