The Spot
Apocalypse BBQ started in 2020 when Jeff Budnechky lit a fire on a 22-inch Weber Smokey Mountain in his Kendall backyard. The project grew from there, eventually moving from a small golf-course shack into a larger space in Kendall Village Shopping Center, where it operates today.

The kitchen runs a wood-fired pit, smoking meat low and slow for up to 24 hours at 225°F. Demkota prime brisket, sold by the pound and cut to order, is the most popular item; Cheshire spare ribs finished in a cafecito rub and Oro Negro sauce are the signature dish. Brisket bacon, smokafried wings, hand-pulled pork, a quarter chicken smoked over open fire, and daily cornbread round out the menu.

The dining room is loud and casual, drawing a mix of families, golfers, and neighborhood regulars. Weekly wing specials turn tables into mountains of saucy drumsticks, and the energy has made Apocalypse one of Kendall's busiest weekend spots.
