The Spot
The Pit Room makes traditional Texas barbecue with a Houston accent — black pepper crust, smoke, and meats that come unsauced by default, sauce available only if you ask for it. The restaurant describes itself as Houstonian first, letting the city's diverse culture shape what ends up on the menu alongside the standard brisket-and-ribs lineup. Breakfast tacos run in the morning before the pits take over for lunch and dinner.

The Montrose location operates alongside a second outpost in Memorial, both running the same food across a full day rather than a limited smoke-till-sold-out window.

The Pit Room has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in both the 2024 and 2025 guides, and The Infatuation scored it 8/10.
