Our Take

Beckon seats eighteen, all at one counter, all facing Duncan Holmes as the tasting menu comes together in front of the room. It's Denver fine dining at its most distilled: no tables to hide at, no distance between the cooking and the eating.

The star arrived in 2023 and the Beard Foundation has circled both the chef and the restaurant. The seasonal menu never freezes, but the feeling repeats: an evening that runs on intimacy rather than opulence, in a room built to make sure you miss nothing.

The Spot
Beckon is built around a single 18-seat chef's counter in Denver's Five Points, where Chef Duncan Holmes — a James Beard semifinalist — cooks a seasonal tasting menu for the room. The kitchen works in New American and Scandinavian registers, and the menu shifts with the seasons, built from ingredients at their peak rather than a fixed lineup of dishes.

Guests sit at the counter for the full length of the meal, close enough to watch each course come together before it's served.

Michelin has awarded Beckon one star in each of its 2023, 2024, and 2025 guides, and 5280 Magazine named it among Denver's best restaurants in 2025.
