Taqueria De Diez runs on a simple premise executed well: late-night tacos that don't cut corners because the kitchen keeps unusual hours. This is the second location, built off an original tucked into a downtown alleyway, and it carries the same menu forward without watering it down — tacos, volcanes, quesadillas, all doing the actual work instead of coasting on the format.

Al pastor and carne asada get equal billing here, and both earn it. The chicken holds its own, and the grilled cactus is the kind of item that separates a place actually cooking Mexican food from one just assembling it. Grab-and-go flan and Mexican rice pudding close things out without pretense — dessert as an afterthought that still tastes made with care.

None of this reinvents the taco. It just gets the fundamentals right at an hour when most kitchens have stopped trying, and local coverage has taken notice of exactly that.
