The Spot
Cooks & Soldiers sits at the corner of 14th Street and Howell Mill Road in Home Park, drawing on the Basque idea of "Pinxtos y Asadors" — small pintxos plates served alongside dishes cooked over a live-fire asador.

The asador does real work here: grilled octopus, whole white fish, and pork belly show up alongside tapas-style plates like setas, salads, and fries meant for passing around the table.

Service has become part of the restaurant's identity, with regulars returning often enough to build a reputation of its own, and the room is set up to handle both a fast pintxos-and-drinks visit and larger group occasions. The James Beard Foundation named Cooks & Soldiers a semifinalist for Outstanding Hospitality in 2024, and for Rising Star Chef of the Year in 2015.
