The Spot
Timber Pizza Co. sits on Upshur Street in Petworth, a small, character-filled room built around a wood-fired oven turning out 12-inch pies. The dine-in space is tight, and regulars tend to favor eating in over pick-up or delivery, part of what gives the spot its identity.

The pizza list ranges from straightforward options like Margherita and Cheese Please to more inventive builds — The Jules with Calabrian chili and honey, The Eddie C with nduja, gorgonzola, and chili crunch, or The Bentley loaded with cured chorizo and soppressata. Empanadas, a couple of composed salads, and a seasonal wood-fired-cone ice cream platter round out the menu, with a long list of add-on toppings for customizing pies further.

Michelin selected Timber Pizza Co. Petworth for its 2025 Washington DC guide, and the restaurant was also a James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef of the Year semifinalist in 2020.
