On Swann opened in Hyde Park Village in May 2016, serving contemporary American food built on a seasonal menu with local flair. The dining room centers on an open kitchen, so guests can watch dishes come together, inside a space that blends the neighborhood's contemporary feel with nods to Tampa's history.
Executive chef and partner Chris Ponte started his career at Clearwater's Pepper Mill Restaurant in 1991 after graduating from Johnson & Wales University. He later studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, graduating at the top of his class, and apprenticed at the storied Taillevent before returning to Tampa. He co-founded On Swann alongside John Cooper, Trudy Cooper, Chris Arreola, and Michelle Ponte.
The menu runs across brunch, lunch, and dinner, with the kale salad, short rib pasta, and burger and fries drawing regular mention, alongside a bread pudding for dessert.
On Swann has been a Michelin Guide Selected restaurant three years running, from 2022 through 2024.
