L'Amorino is run by Oliviana and Serdar, who spent twelve years behind Bayshore Mediterranean Grill before opening this South Tampa restaurant built around Oliviana's Sicilian upbringing in Palermo and childhood summers in the Madonie Mountains. Serdar's background in fishing and hunting shapes the kitchen's approach to sourcing, following the seasons for what goes on the plate.
The menu runs through Sicilian and Italian staples: arancina, fried Sicilian caponata, a salumi and cheese board, sautéed mussels in pomodoro. Pasta includes rigatoni alla Norma with eggplant and ricotta salata, spaghetti with clams and bottarga, bucatini carbonara, and a baked ring-pasta dish, anelletti al forno alla Palermitana, layered with beef ragu, béchamel, and eggplant. Pizzas are made from house dough prepared daily, offered in a hand-tossed Neapolitan style or a flatbread-style Pizzetta crust.
