The Shambles is a 21-and-over neighborhood restaurant and bar in Northgate, built around handmade communal tables and an Old English pub feel. Founded in 2018 by Joel and Matthew, the restaurant was purchased in late 2022 by Becky and Jon, who have kept the original vision intact.
The kitchen cuts its steaks in house and rotates seasonal dishes that have included foraged mushrooms and house-made sausages, alongside vegetarian options and a burger. The bar side runs cocktails, wine, beer, and cider on tap, plus a non-alcoholic list, with pairings that regulars have come to rely on.
Service holds up under pressure and has helped build a genuine repeat following — the kind of place where regulars sit at the bar as easily as they book a date night. The Shambles was named to StarChefs' Rising Stars in 2020 for the Seattle market.
