Our Take

Lenox treats Belltown like it's been starving for something other than a bar crawl, and it delivers a room built for the same energy without the hangover: lush, palm-packed, loud in the right way. This is food meant to be ordered in volume, spread across a big table, fought over. The braised beef empanadas come wrapped in pastry that shatters properly. A char-marked bavette holds its own against steakhouse versions charging more for less char. Crackly lechon sits over coconutty greens worth guarding from the rest of the table.

Even the modest plate here works — a saucer of red beans and cotija shouldn't be a highlight, and it is anyway. The entrees edge out the smaller dishes, but barely; nothing on the menu is coasting.

The recognition followed the food rather than the other way around: a Bon Appétit Best New Restaurants nod in 2025, alongside other national notice. That's confirmation, not the pitch. The pitch is a Caribbean menu that turns a neighborhood known for noise into a place worth getting a group together for, on purpose, sober.

The Spot
Lenox traces its food back through the kitchens of Puerto Rico and Cuba and the bodegas of Harlem before landing in Belltown. Chef and owner Jhonny Reyes, born in Harlem and raised in Seattle, started the concept during the pandemic as a meal-delivery service before it grew into a pop-up and then this restaurant. The cooking isn't presented as a replica of the islands — it's Reyes's own interpretation, shaped by where he's lived and what's around him in the Pacific Northwest.

Regulars point to mofongo, lechon, and alcapurria as the dishes to know, alongside a cocktail program built on seasonal specials. Service has developed its own reputation here, with diners frequently noting the staff's command of the menu.

Lenox made Eater's Essential 38 for Seattle, scored a 9 out of 10 from The Infatuation, and landed on Bon Appétit's Best New Restaurants list in 2025.
